About Breilla Pointers

I am a fourth generation breeder/exhibitor. My great grandparents had Pugs, my grandfather Vic Jones, is an all breeds dog judge and has over the years owned and/or bred Cocker spaniels, American Cocker Spaniels, English Setters, Standard Poodles and most recently, Jack Russell Terriers. My mother, Margaret East, is quite successful in the ring with her Cockers and English Setters bred under her Sagapore Prefix and my sister, Anthea, is a gundog judge and Golden Retriever breeder under her Wysiwyg prefix. My brother Adrian also shows and breeds and is enjoying success with his smooth coat Fox Terriers.

I have owned Pointers since 1997 with my first two being sent from Tintookie Kennels in Perth. One of these became my first champion and foundation bitch, Ch Tintookie Fairy Tale aka, “Yoshi”.

Yoshi had two litters, one to Ch Zelgren First Fleet and one to Ch Haywyn the Ultimate.

Both of these lines now feature heavily in my stock and future breeding and provided me with a great foundation to work from to breed a consistent type with excellent health and stable and outgoing temperaments. There are also breeding tie-ins with Zuhraan Pointers, Qld and Pivotal Pointers, NSW.

Breilla Pointers have been exhibited successfully in Queensland, New South Wales, Victoria, South Australia and the Norther Territory with one of the Breilla girls showing promise in the ring in New Zealand with limited showing. Several have been successfully used out in the field and of course, Breilla Pointers also make excellent pets and lounge warmers.
